Starting from the academic year 2009 onwards, all international students seeking admission to Government primary and secondary schools are required to sit for a centralized test conducted by the Ministry of Education. This centralized test called the Admission Exercise for International Students (AEIS), will test students on English and Mathematics.
Students may also sit for the Qualifying Test (QT), conducted by the Civil Service College. It is important to note that students can only sit for the QT once.
You may contact us if you need more information on the admission of International Students or visit the website of Ministry of Education.
Government School Preparatory Programme
We have always achieved very high success rate in preparing our students for admission to Singapore Government Schools. In response to the Government’s new admission policy for international students, BSH has developed an intensive in-house preparatory programme to prepare international students, aged 6 to 16, for the AEIS (Admission Exercise for International Students) or QT (Qualifying Test). Our qualified teachers will be able to diagnose the learning needs of each student and customize a suitable preparatory programme for each student.
This preparatory course is only available for students who stay in BSH.
(This service is only available to students who have opted to stay at BSH)
This is an award from the Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore. Students receiving this award will pay local fees. However they will have to look for their own schools. BSH’s long and good association with many schools in Singapore will ensure that every student staying in BSH will be able to find a school. If you would like to take up the offer, please bring along your letter of offer from MOE.
Please note that this service is only available to students who have signed a 2-year contract with Balestier Students’ Hostel.
